Drawing in the garden
July 27, 2025: Latitude For Art invited our residents, our neighbors and email list to come and draw together in the lush garden. Locals brought their own materials and we got in to our sketches for a couple of hours.
Cy Plouviez artist talk
July 6, 2025: Cy Plouviez • Multimedia Artist kicked off his gathering in the garden but soon we were all in the residency to see his dense reframe project involving a combination of visual note taking from past with contemporary overlay in paint and text.
Isa Fest 2025
June 14, 2025: The Isa Fest is out annual fundraiser for Latitude For Art. Isa was a stalwart Echo Park figure for over 50 years and always encouraged gatherings and meet ups at her property which while social always included the distribution of fliers and information bout pressing topics of the day. Many speakers took to the mic to celebrate this very special character including people who had never met her but were moved by her story. We celebrate and miss Isa.
Röðull Reyr Kárason and Fylkir de Jong from Iceland
April 27, 2025: Röðull Reyr Kárason and Fylkir de Jong worked on a series of drawing, paintings and illustrations during their residency at Latitude. We held a gathering to introduce this uncle and nephew art duo to the local community with a potluck and artist talk.
